Kovalam

This is a beach town by the Arabian Sea, in the city of Trivandrum, capital of the state of Kerala. The name Kovalam is derived from grove of Coconut. One can see endless sight of coconut trees slanting into the sea along the beach. Kovalam is one of the oldest tourist destinations of India, even back in the 1920s. But it was only in the 70s, after arrival of the hippies, did Kovalam transform as a famous tourist destination from a traditional fishing village. The beautiful crescent of Kovalam beaches is formed with the combination of three beautiful beaches, which are Lighthouse beach, Hawah beach, and the Samudra beach. One gets a chance to walk on top of the seawall too where you can see the seawater smashing into the rocks below you. Tourists can engage in water sports like surfing and can get into the waters and enjoy swimming here. This is a famous destination of International tourists.
